September 7th, 2013
The first week back at school at Millen Woods has been great! Our students seem happy and energetic, and more than ready to tackle new learning!
Safety is our first priority all year, and September is the most important time for setting good habits and getting into safe routines. THANK YOU to parents who take the time to walk to school with their children and point out safe pedestrian practices. We emphasize that the parking lot is completely off limits to students, and we appreciate that adults refrain from cutting through it, especially with children along. Our safety patrols are out every morning and dismissal time to help students cross New Hampshire safely.
Please mark your calendar with our “Meet the Teacher Night” on Thursday, September 12, 2013, from 5:00 to 7:30 P.M. This event will be an opportunity to get together informally as a community, meet the new teachers, and visit your child’s classroom. Council will be continuing the popular tradition of hosting a delicious BBQ dinner for $6.00 per person, beginning at 5:00 p.m. (Classrooms will open at 5:30 p.m.)
Our first School Council meeting is on Wednesday, September 18 at 7:00 P.M. School Council is a great way to become more involved and knowledgeable about what is happening at school and to have an impact on your child’s education. All parents are welcome to attend.
