“The Millen Woods School Council is a body of volunteers created to support and enhance learning for all students through the cooperative efforts of parents/caregivers, students, staff members and others in the community.”

WHAT WE DO: Here at Millen Woods, our School Council works with the school administration to organize fundraising efforts to support events and activities within the school. These events and activities help enrich what the amazing staff already does for our children.

Some of the enrichment items include:

– New books for the Home Reading Program
– Guest Speakers in the School
– Extracurricular Club requests
– Nutrition Break Enrichment (playground equipment, maintenance and sports equipment)
– New Musical Instruments
– Community Outreach Efforts
– Technology Replacements in the Classroom

As Council, we also organize Free Family Events at the school, such as Winter Wonderland and Year-End Social event.

We also provide support for the administration, and provide our guidance and input for what we would like to see as a parent/caregiver body.

SCHOOL COUNCIL MEETINGS: Council meets once a month (2nd Wednesday of the month) for approximately 1.5 hours, in person in the school Library or via Google Meet.
