Last year Millen Woods began its focus on the importance of the Rainforest by supporting DeforestAction, which is a global initiative to protect the endangered rainforests around the world. In hopes of making students more aware of the impact they can have on our natural areas, teachers are planning a two day event of elective activities all based on developing our awareness of the forest. During our “Rainforest Days” beginning next Thursday, June 20, students will choose from a variety of activities such as drumming, art projects, drama, forest games, rainforest cafe, technology work and a walk in the woods. Our second day of activities will offer a “play day” of outdoor activities and a movie with a “rainforest theme”.
